Troubleshooting Tips for Online Services

Recently, a small number of users have reported technical issues when using our Online Services. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience as we work to resolve these issues as quickly as possible. 

If you are encountering technical issues, please see the common issues below, along with step-by-step troubleshooting tips.  

Problems with Permits 

Issue: Permits are not displayed. 

Try: Logging out and then logging back in. To log out, click on your profile name at the top right-hand corner of the screen. Once logged out, you will see the log in page again. On the log in page, enter your username and password to log in again. 


Issue: When accessing permits or applying for a permit, a “400 error” page displays. 
 
Try: Calling our contact centre at: 1 866 566 7233 for assistance to provide you with permit information or apply for a permit. We apologize for the inconvenience. This is a temporary system issue, and we are working to fix it as soon as possible. 

 

Viewing on Laptop, Mobile Tablet, and Phone Screens 
 
Issue: The Online Services page looks really small on a phone or tablet. It is difficult to see or navigate.  

Try: Clicking to “Request Mobile Website” for iPhone / iPad Safari users. Click on the left-hand side icon in the URL bar on the bottom (or top) of your screen. A small menu will pop up. On this menu, click on the three dots on the bottom right, then select “Request Mobile Website.”



Alternatively, check to see if your browser is set to desktop view by opening “Settings.” Choose the browser you are using, like “Safari.” Tap on “Request Desktop Website.” Please ensure this function is turned off (greyed out or unselected). Other browsers may use different but similar names for this function. If you cannot find “Request Desktop Website,” look for “Desktop Site” or “Desktop View” and ensure this function is turned off. 

At this time, our online services are best displayed on desktop computers. We are actively working to improve viewing on smaller screens like tablets, laptops, and phones.

Issue: Tables for “My permits,” “My invoices,” or “My units” are not displaying in full. Action buttons seem to be missing. 

Try: Scrolling to the right to see the rest of the table and buttons. At this time, Online Services is best displayed on desktop computers. We are actively working to improve viewing on smaller screens like tablets, laptops, and phones. 

Problems with Forms 

Issue: Forms are now missing or no longer working when accessed through a bookmarked links. 
 
Try: Finding the form through Online Services, filling and submitting it, rather than doing so using a bookmarked link. Sometimes, if the bookmarked link is old, it may not take you to the correct place. Please update your bookmarks when you’ve found the form you’re looking for. 

Toggling Between Accounts 

Issue: The function to toggle between accounts seems to be removed and I’m not sure how to view permits associated with my different business accounts. 
 
Try: Clicking on “permits” to display permits associated with all of your businesses. There is no need to toggle between accounts anymore. If you are applying for a permit, you will be prompted to choose which business the permit belongs to as a part of the application process.
